WHERE COLLABORATION
TAKE SHAPE

Focus Areas are the thematic pillars of LSOS 2025 – dedicated spaces for dialogue and collaboration on the most pressing challenges and opportunities in life sciences. Each area brings together local and global changemakers, fostering tailored discussions and partnerships that drive progress in health and sustainability.

Life Science Open Space is built with its participants – innovators, researchers, and professionals who share their ideas, challenges, and collaboration offers. Choose the Focus Area that best fits your expertise, submit your abstract, and take the stage to present your vision. Join the conversation, inspire others, and shape the future of life sciences together.

6. Questions that Matter

What Should We Really Ask?

  •  The title of this session is derived from Einstein’s famous quote:   “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes.” This is the final session of the event, open to the broader public, and is not exclusive to conference participants.

  • The session will feature leaders sharing questions that matter to them, followed by a discussion to deepen understanding of why it is essential to pursue an answer. The objective is to facilitate dialogue, discussion, and engagement from the life sciences community in the broad context of future healthcare innovations (e.g., technological, learning, societal, environmental, and ethical). The quote seems to fit this purpose perfectly: what should we ask about before we aim to make our lives better?

  • We invite up to five esteemed experts from the life science innovation community to join the session, including researchers, entrepreneurs and policymakers. Each invited expert prepares their question in advance to share it with the public on the screen during the session.  Altogether, up to five questions will be presented and discussed. All will be published later with reference to the author.
